ive had hashimotos for over a year now. im 27. i know most people seem to gain weight but ive had the complete opposite. ive lost over 7kg. its making me very sad as im incredibly skinny now and nothing fits me any more. i used to be a size UK 10-12 and now im a 6. Last week i decided to up my calorie intake and eat more however ive still managed to lose a few pounds. ive had to cut out gluten but i dont see how that can make me lose so much weight. My friend tells me im lucky to have a 'fast metabolism' but i dont feel lucky.
i dont bother going to the doctors anymore as they never listen to me and act as if my symptoms are not real. Im also currently not on any medication for my thyroid. Can thyroid problems really make one lose so much weight? My boyfriend is worried it could be something else other than my thyoird making me lose weight.
Any advice? Has anyone else with hasimotos experienced this?
