Itchy throat

Taking Synthroid first thing in the morning seems to make my throat itchy, or I just feel a sensitivity there. Only on day three of beginning. Before that I tried taking generic synthroid for one day, but that made me feel real bad. (body doesn't like generics) But the brand Synthroid works better for me. But my throat seems sensitive to it. Anyone else feel this way?

It can take a week or two to adjust to Levothyroxine. Most adverse effects resolve within 2-3 weeks. If the itchiness persists after a couple of weeks take an antihistamine an hour before taking Synthroid. If it resolves it means you are having an allergic reaction to one of the ingredients in Synthroid and should try another Levothyroxine brand. I believe there are 3 or 4 other brands available in the USA.
