Could I be hyper - normal heart rate

Hi all

I've been referred to an endocrinologist and have my appointment soon, just looking for the opinions of others here.

I've had nodules on my thyroid for some time and GP referred me to endo as they have grown/multiplied, together with the fact that my TSH is getting lower with each blood test, at last one it was 1 (so still within range??). Having googled a bit though it seems that an overactive thyroid goes hand in hand with a high heart rate, which I do not have.

I have other symptoms: unexplainable anxiousness, extreme fatigue most days that is interspersed by some rare energetic days, diarrhoea sometimes and dizziness/light headedness.

So basically my questions is whether or not a person with a normal heart rate can have an overactive thyroid. It would also be good to know if dizziness is associated with it too.

Had enough of feeling terrible every day :-(

Thanks for reading

Edit: I also have a low level of cholesterol (associated?) and unsure of weight loss as I cut out sugar two years ago so have lost weight anyway)

Hi ...all those symptoms are associated with overmedication .I have recently been overmedicated yet my heart rate wasnt that bad ..although it wasn't something I was regular testing ...I was watching my temperatures instead which were not high so I was mislead thinking I wasn't overmedicated when in reality I was ..and I'm still suffering for it now!I would get a blood test ..that was the only way for me to confirm what was going on, as even under medication can present with those same symptoms( although with your dropping tsh that doesn't seem likely. )Maybe you just don't need as much medication now you have stopped sugar which causes us inflammation and stress on the body .

What time of day do you have your tests done? TSH is highest early in the morning - before 9 am - and fasting. It drops throughout the day, and after eating. Just testing TSH doesn't tell you much at all. Given your symptoms, you could have Central hypo, in which the TSH is low, but so are the Frees. So, it's impossible even for a doctor to give you any sort of diagnosis just based on the TSH, unless it is high.

Sounds like Hashimoto's which is hypo, but you often get hyper type symptoms too
