You need to get rid of that Endo as he/she knows nothing about thyroid treatment, not unusual !

So you have been on 25mcg since 2012 😳 You are very undermedicated as none of your results are good, TSH should be 1 or lower and T3 & 4 closer to the top of the ranges.

You need an increase asap, your GP can prescribe a higher dose assuming they know more than the Endo, which won't be difficult !

How much and why was it reduced ? Do you have previous results ? 25mcg is a tiny amount to be taking and obviously nowhere near enough for you.

I was taking 200mcg levothyroxine before and GP reduced it because of below range TSH

TSH 0.02 (0.2 - 4.2)

Free T4 20.3 (12 - 22)

Free T3 4.0 (3.1 - 6.8)

Oh my god what an idiot Endo, your TSH was low but your T4&3 were well within range, in fact your T3 had lots of room to increase.

You need to take matters into your own hands and see your GP but don't bother going to the Endo again !

He has a cheek. Is he qualified? Probably not by the sounds of it or he has hypothyroid himself and is suffering from brain fog.

To be serious - he is putting your health in danger by prescribing such a low dose as 25mcg

With both FT4 and FT3 being at the bottom of the range you don't have sufficient T3 for your receptor cells and metabolism cannot rise.

Please see your GP a.s.a.p as you badly need an increase of 25mcg each 6 weeks with a blood test each time till both FT4 and FT3 are towards the top of the range and TSH 1 or lower.

Does your endo know you used to be on 200 mcg and are now on 25 mcg? Is it possible they think you are still being prescribed the higher dose and hence wondering if you are forgetting to take it?

Not what you're looking for?
