Nakulgarg2406 A TSH of 42.03 means that you have primary hypothyroidism - an underactive thyroid. You need replacement thyroid hormone (levothyroxine). Hopefully your doctor has started you on Levo. You will need testing and increases in dose every 6-8 weeks until your symptoms abate and you feel well. The aim of a treated hypo patient generally is for TSH to be 1 or below or wherever it needs to be for FT4 and FT3 to be in the upper part of their respective reference ranges when on Levo

See thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/about_... then work down the purple menu on the left hand side.

It will be harmful if not treated, therefore you need Levothyroxine prescribed and you need to take it every day. You are not producing any of the natural hormone thyroxine, therefore it needs to be replaced with synthetic thyroid hormone - Levothyroxine. If you remain untreated you will get more and more signs of hypothyroidism - see the list here thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/about_... and eventually your body will start to shut down and you may go into myxodema coma.

If you haven't been given a prescription for Levo then you must ask your doctor to start you on it as soon as possible.
