I have :( It's a complete faff to source/use 💦 😷 💉 and made no appreciable difference once the placebo effect had worn off. We are all individuals and it may make a difference to you.

Things that have worked for me include comprehensive blood tests of the type you can arrange via TUK thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/testin... hang on for a 'Thyroid Thursday' for a larger discount; Magnesium mineral oil spray - I use Better You (UK); Krill oil and sublingual B12; a blood pressure monitor; a Geratherm Basal Mercury Free Thermometer but most of all the wise and wonderful people who contribute to this site and those behind the ITT campaign change.org/p/itt-campaign-g... :)

Apart from the LDN Rapunzel I second and agree with all you have said about your 'tools of the trade' and information given by a lot of kind people on this site. t3rcam thanks for posting about LDN. I also find that Oil of Evening Primrose helps with aches and pains and hair condition.

I've just ordered a small amount and am going to try it, but I hasten to add it's really more in the hope of lessening my need for painkillers for my chronic lower back pain, rather than hoping it'll sort out my thyroid. It certainly is interesting and I'm looking forward to trying it out.

Thanks for your replies ladies. Rappunzel, yes I have the 'tools of the trade' and have had blood and saliva tests done as recommended by TUK. I am also a member of the Rt3-adrenals group which is also very good. When you say that the LDN you used was a faff to source and use - what do you mean? Was it the liquid form you used? How much did you take? How long did you use it for? Sorry for all the questions I am very curious.

jadzhia, I would be very interested to know how you get on, will you post your outcome here?

t3rcam... ldn has been a Godsend for MS sufferers and many cancer patients use ldn to help boost their immune system. You need to get it in a form that lets you adjust dosage as it is recommended to start off low and slow.

The 50 mg tablets are very versatile. You just dissolve them in 50 ml of distilled water. Then 1 mil of water = 1 mg of ldn and you store this in the fridge. Discard it if not used after 60 days or so. Many folks start off on .5 or 1 mg of ldn. You take it at night at bedtime. Some report sleep disturbances for the first week or two.

If one can't tolerate the nighttime sleep disturbance (vivid dreams, nightmares), you can try taking it in the morning. Hold on low dosage then increase each week or so, especially if you are sensitive to substances. Don't exceed 4.5 mgs per day/nite.

I used tablets and distilled water (there's just as much faff getting that - the dispenser at Boots looked at me like I was mad when I asked for it ) then there's the syringes to draw up the appropriate mls of ldn as described by phoenix.

I got up to 4.5mls/day, kept at it for 6 months and then gave up in one of my ever bubbling fits of pique. Life's too short with all the other cr*p I put up with, was my take. I hope it treats you kind. Good luck x

Thanks! My doctor said LDN has helped some patients, but not all. Four days & counting. The Rx came with a hand-out stating cautions for people on thyroid supplementation who may need to lower meds. Here's hoping. I had a thyroid antibody test before beginning to see if LDN makes a difference.
