I haven't had it myself, but I know it's a possibility. When you have a virus or some over infection, the TSH rises because conversion is restricted and the FT3 lowers. But, when the infection is gone, things should go back to normal.

TSH can certainly be elevated due to a virus or non-thyroidal illness. It is actually protocol not to diagnose hypothyroidism for the first abnormal TSH for this reason and to retest 2-3 months later when the virus or illness would have been expected to have cleared.
