My wonderful GP has agreed to test for any vitamins and minerals that I think appropriate to help Hypo Thyroid. A golden opportunity I feel so if anyone can suggest a comprehensive list or where I might find one I'd greatly appreciate it.
Optimum Vitamins and Minerals: My wonderful GP... - Thyroid UK
Optimum Vitamins and Minerals
Vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
Plus TPO and TG thyroid antibodies
Always get actual results and ranges
note: there isn't a gold standard test for B12, which also means that you can't monitor whether it is at the right levels for you using them - you need to go on symptoms.
unless you are symptomatic of B12 deficiency which may be difficult to evaluate as symptoms overlap with thyroid) I would strongly recommend not asking for a test that is unlikely to be useful. Same would apply to folate as the symptoms of the two also overlap because they are used together

if you are symptomatic then would suggest trying to get MMA included in the tests as this will help clarify if B12 comes back in the grey range - levels would be elevated if cells don't have enough B12 - however, it would also mean including other tests for kidney function as there are other things that will cause MMA to be raised that would need to be ruled out.
Full blood count will be needed in relation to looking at iron, ideally, as well as measuring ferritin - although ferritin tends to be a good indicator of iron levels it is, like most markers an indicator.
