Hi I've been having an on going goitre problem since may. The thing is I went to hospital for my results from the goitre fluid but they wasn't available, but the consultant I saw said she will put in place a plan for me as I have a lot of hypo thyroid symptoms and she said will send you to see an endocrinologist to look at my history of blood tests and that my family as a long line of thyroid problems. But a week later another consultant phoned me with the results saying everything is fine with the goitre and will see me in December, I said I'm in pain with the goitre and that my consultant was going to put a plan in place for me. He said no your blood test is within range. And left me there. I'm desperate, I'm so tired, got serious brain fog and struggling to function. Should I go to my gp and beg them to send me to see someone or just go private? Any help would be truly great full

First thing is do you have any actual blood test results? If not you need to get hold of them. You are entitled under data protection laws. If they were done at hospital rather than by GP it may be tricker to get hold of them

You need to know results for TSH, FT4 and FT3. Do you also have high thyroid antibodies? You need to know.

Low vitamins that affect thyroid are vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12. Important to test these. If they are too low they stop Thyroid hormones working. Have these been tested, if not ask GP that they are. Always get actual results and ranges.

If you can't get you test results or new full thyroid and vitamin testing from GP

Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have money off offers.

All thyroid tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and fasting - gives highest TSH

Hi yeah I have all my results dating back to last year and the one hospital one I had done there. I'm in iron tablets but as soon as I run out I'm struggling, I have that and victim d deficiency. Also I have low blood pressure which is new. The last blood test I had was done at 1 in the afternoon after I'd eaten 🙄 I've asked my doctors for another blood test but they said I've had one so I have to wait 3 months? When I showed my results to a lovely lady who showed me this site said my levels are going low?
