Yes, a prescription and preferably one that is registered by your doctor as needed because “patient does not respond to T4”. Tertroxin on standard script is about $80 for 100 20mcg tablets; with a registered script it’s about $38 for same. Slow-release T3 is a waste of money; the normal T3 is easily available here, but needs to be carefully monitored.
