I have Hashimoto and an underactive thyroid . I've been told T3 would help me. I'm taking 125mg for 4 years. If I purchased some T3 how will I know how much to take and do I reduce the levothyroxitine?. If your doctor won't advise how do you know what your doing?? I worried and don't want to end up with a spinning head as I'm messing around with my dose. What to do?? Can anyone advise?😣

Who told you T3 would help you? Why? Do you have copies of your lab results that show a conversion problem? It could just be that you aren't on a high enough dose of levo to make you well. I think we need a little more information before we can help you with doses and things.

OK! Really would help if you could reference previous posts with information in them.
When starting T3, the rules are the same as for any hormone : start low, increase slowly. So, start with a quarter tablet - 6.25 mcg - and increase by 1/4 tablet every two weeks.
It would be a very good idea to reduce your levo by 25 mcg when starting the T3.
Continue increase every two weeks until you reach one whole tablet, hold for six weeks and test. Very much the same process as you followed for increasing your T4. Nothing to worry about, Just be observant of your reactions, and if it seems like an increase is too much, just go down by 6.25 again.
