Underactive thyroid ...HELP!!!

Hi all..... please help!!

I was on 125mcg of levothyroxine and my function is at the higher end. I have put on so much weight over the yrs and my metabolism is not great due to yo yo dieting..

I asked my doctor to do a free T3 test and this came back way below normal. She increased my thyroxine to 150mcg and has referred me to a specialist whom I see in June.

My vitamin levels all came back normal

I have ordered red T3 online, don’t know if I should.... can anyone give me any advise

HELP!!

If you post your test results members can help, include the reference ranges as they vary from lab to lab. Ideally you need

TSH

FT4

FT3

(all the above done from the same blood draw)

Thyroid antibodies

Vit D

B12

Folate

Ferritin

(vitamins and minerals need to be at optimal levels for thyroid hormone to work so saying normal doesn't tell us if they're optimal)

There's no such thing as 'normal', when talking about blood tests. It just means 'in-range'. Do you have the actual numbers?

And what do you mean by your 'function'. What is at the higher end of what?

If you are hypo, it's more likely to be that that's affecting your metabolism, rather than yo-yo dieting.
