Welcome to our forum. If you have been diagnosed as hypothyroid, the doctor should have prescribed levothyroxine usually 50mcg starting dose.

When you have a blood test for thyroid hormones it has to be at the earliest possible, fasting (you can drink water) and if you were taking levothyroxine (T4) you'd allow a gap of 24 hours between last dose and test and take afterwards. We usually take levo first thing with one full glass of water and wait about an hour before eating.

Always get a print-out from the surgery with the ranges. These figures are in brackets after the results and as labs differ we need the ranges to comment.

GP should test B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate.

Thanks for the response.... But I was diagnosed while fasting and labs here gave the reports as T3 within the range and T4 also within the range but Tsh 3rd generation is. 20 above the range.... The max in the report mentioned was 4.20and mine is 4.40

You are hypo as soon as your TSH hits 3. And, the fact that your T3 and T4 were 'in range' is meaningless. It's where in the range they fall, that counts. Do you have the exact numbers?

Fasting only affects the TSH, not the T3/T4 - as far as we know. But, as doctors only tend to look at the TSH, we need it as high as possible if we want to get diagnosed.

Suggest you get thyroid antibodies tested too, (to check if you have autoimmune thyroid disease also called Hashimoto's) plus vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

Always get actual results and ranges
