Confused

Ok so I went back to GP today for my results. Last week I had the GP receptionist do me a printout but today I saw GP. My results are as follows, bear in mind that in June my results were TSH 4.21, Thyroid antibodies 79 range (0-59) Today my TSH is 3.88 and antibodies 24.

I'm confused, how can this be? She said I've probably had a mild thyroiditis and it has cleared up on its own?? Can anyone shed some light?

Nicki24110 Antibodies fluctuate so it's not unexpected that the result is different. And it would affect TSH too. But this was explained in replies to your last thread.

With a TSH of 3.88, you're still hypo - although your GP wouldn't know that.

Did you have both tests early in the morning and fasting?

In any case, you did have one over-range antibody test, so you do have Hashi's - antibodies fluctuate all the time, it doesn't mean you've got over it. And, the fluctuating antibodies can cause the TSH to fluctuate. But, I wouldn't expect a GP to know that. :(

Was this test done as early as possible in morning and fasting. This gives highest TSH

What about vitamin D, folate ferritin and B12

You could try changing to gluten free diet to see if this reduces symptoms

Read as much as possible about Hashimoto's - the Thyroid Pharmacist website for masses of info

Yeah the test was done first thing in the morning and I fasted. Ferritin level is 36 so I have to continue taking my iron tablets until the level reaches at least 70 dr said. I have to be retested at 3 monthly intervals to monitor my thyroid.
