Haven't been on here for a while as symptoms seemed to settle for a while , does anybody know if antibodies can cause palpitations followed by episode of racing heart?
I'm awaiting an appointment from a rhythm specialist but this has been going on for the last 7 months🙄
Saw endo last month and he really wasn't concerned about the heart issues just that I have antibodies and will require a blood test every 6 months
I have been gf for the last 4 months and to be fair have been feeling a whole lot better by being gf, it's just these episodes that send me into meltdown!
Anyone else get this!

I had almost constant palpitations and racing heart when I had euthyroid Hashimoto's. ECG and ambulatory ECG showed heart was fine. I don't think the palpitations showed up on the ECGs at all.
Several members have recommended drinking a glass of icy water to calm palpitations. I found this tip helpful - Hold your breath or bear down like you’re having a bowel movement.
If you have high antibodies you have autoimmune thyroiditis (Hashimoto's). Euthyroid = normal. If thyroid levels are in normal range but you also have Hashimoto's you have euthyroid Hashimoto's.
I have been under a lot of stress the last week where my dad collapsed and I had tolook after mum etc and a 45 min car journey to hospital each way twice a day😔
I had palpitations and ectopic beats all day every day, doctor wasn't bothered. I noticed that they went when I had a banana. So I started eating a few a day. I increased my magnesium malate to two a day and they nearly disappeared and now I have half a potassium in the morning and they have gone, I might get one a week but it doesn't bother me now. I mentioned this to the doctor and they weren't bothered again, I asked why the magnesium and potassium did this and again no answer.
I've started taking magnesium from holland and barratt , but not sure what strength would be suitable? Did you get the racing heart? What magnesium do you take?
Just hate the feeling of the heart and it lasts for at least 5 hours 😔
I took that but then realised that magnesium oxide is not absorbed well. I got mine from online magnesium malate was good but I am trying magnesium citrate. I found malate was good for cramping but I do now take one in morning and one in the evening. Look at the feedback is always a good guide. Not sure about the racing heart, I just kept my sugar intake low. Not sure about the racing heart, go for a walk and use it up. I seem to remember its an adrenal or cortisol issue, not sure if its linked to palpitations. I am sure someone here will have the answer. I did go to a herbalist who gave me a herbal tea to take when stressed, seemed to calm me down and stop the anxiety creeping in. Made a huge difference. I take ashwagandha which keeps me calm and I don't get stressed anymore. My Mum has dementia so I was always stressed before. My antibodies are also high. I also put a dab of lavender oil on my pillow at night and I have taken to having some almond milk in the evening, not sure why but it works. I also take B-100 from HB, look after your nerves, walks and de-stress. Has helped me tremendously.
Loozy Oh my sympathy's go out to you . I could cry just thinking about palpitations that I've been through all the years . For one I did not know why this happened to me I thought I was alone . Loozy Your not alone . For one being dosed with thyroid meds that are not optimal for you will do it . Please have your Endo /Dr to raise your thyroid doses . If your not on some low dose T3/NDT please try to get your Dr to give you a script . I can tell you that low dose NDT helped to calm my palpitations . Also please have your iron panel and ferritin tested . I can almost bet that you need some Iron . Iron and magnesium and calcium need to be dosed at least four hours or more from thyroid meds . Magnesium Taurate fish oil will help with calming your palpitations . Stay away from coffee chocolate sugar they are very stimulating and can start palpitation . You might also need some adrenal support . Adrenal and thyroids work in unison . When not dosed with thyroid meds optimally adrenals pick up the slack and causes adrenal insufficiencies . Vit"C" and B-complex especially B-5 are very supportive for our adrenals . If your adrenals are not up to par you will have difficulty raising thyroid meds . Have your Dr check your DHEA levels you might be low and need to supplement . Having your adrenal /cortisol levels checked would benefit you . It's done through saliva .
Wishing all the best on your next steps of feeling great .
Thank you so much for your kind words I really do appreciate all of you! It turns out I spent the night in A&E where they discovered I have Afib....at last some answers!
Think I'm well on the long road to recovery , it's always the not knowing isn't it!
