Hi, my daughter started on 25mg levothyroxin about 6 week ago. She is 17 and would tend to get bad skin for which the doctor gave her cream. The cream worked pretty well but I notice her skin has become really bad since starting the levo. Is this a side effect of levo and is there anything I can do about it.
Levothyroxin and acne: Hi, my daughter started... - Thyroid UK
Levothyroxin and acne
Do you know what the cream was ? Some types of cream for acne can contain nasties 😊
Does your daughter have Hashi's ? Often the skin is a reflection of the health of the gut - so perhaps going gluten free would help.
Hi, thank for you reply, yes she was recently diagnosed with hashis and has been gluten free for a few months, not sure what the cream is called I will post when I get home. But the cream did work well before she started levo treatment.

Sometimes they are steroid creams which can work in the short term but not good for the long-term. Had a grandson on an acne cream which had horrid ingredients when we looked it up on the internet. He came off it immediately ....
Did u find anything that worked for him, I feel so bad for my daughter, she's already suffering with the thyroid symptoms, now this. 😞
My youngest had terrible skin problems, we tried everything on prescription , went to a dermatologist which was a waste of time. Ended up at a beauty therapist who uses DMK products, she went there for treatments and peels for several years and the difference was amazing, cost an absolute fortune but had to be done.
