Sorry if this is sounding silly but I feel like I cant sleep enough, no energy, my joints ache, upper eyelids are getting puffy, bags under my eyes, skin stings in water and hair has a mind of its own and now getting more depressed by the day. My Dr has said and is treating me for overactive thyroid for the second time in 2 years. I am taking 10mg carbimazole daily, gabapentin for the pain and propranolol for the palpitations. My last blood test results were T4 normal, TSH 0.01 and T3 6.1. On getting these results by phoning the drs they told me a routine appointment in a month. I feel like C**p, its the summer hols and i dont have the energy to do stuff with my son. I know there are people feeling worse out there and i appologise, I would just like to know I`m on the right treatment.

Thanks

I would want to know that, too! Were those labs done before you started the Carb, or after? Were any antibodies done? I would insist on antibodies, because your Frees don't sound that high - although it would be nice to see the ranges. Just having a low TSH doesn't automatically mean you are hyper. I've just been saying the same thing in the post before yours.

They were done after being on the carbimazole just short of 3 months. The bloods are normally just the TFT. The ranges I dont have a clue. Its a mission to get the results from the gp never mind what the ranges are. Sorry.

I think they get a bit hung up on TSH levels. Apparently mine are almost in normal range, 4.30 top end of range 4.20. But that doesn't mean that you are miraculously feeling well. The anxiety, not sleeping well, feeling down, no enthusiasm for anything is still there. I have graves and the Carbimazole brought TSH up and now the dose is reduced its coming down again. But numbers don't make you feel well 🙄🙄

Hello tired69 ive just been diagnosed with hyper and i am taking beta blockers and now starting carbimazole 20mgs which doc prescribed, i am due to see endoc october, i know how you feel although i dont have any pain. I have horrible breathlessnes, i am also tired and worn out and then some days i feel like i could clean the house top to bottom its rubbish. I feel cheated as i was looking forward to summer hols and going away and day trips as a family, my daughter is 11 and i have explained to her about why im poorly at the moment and sorry if we have not done alot of things this year but mum needs to get better. I feel guilty but we need to sort our health out. Its rubbish feeling likevthis but this site is a god send and full of peoplebwho dedicate their time to make others feel better and hopeful.😊
