There are four different formulations in the UK:

Yes - many people notice differences. Some find one make intolerable and another fine.

Almus is (currently) just Actavis packaged under another name.

You should always try to stick to same brand as exactly the same dose in a different brand can give different uptake, leading variation in Thyroid blood levels. In theory if the brand is changed you should have blood test 6 weeks after

The packet that is obviously orange is Actavis. See this page for a picture:

Acatvis is currently also packaged as Almus.

That sounds more of an allergy to the fillers than a slight dose variation. (Companies have to produce medication within 5% of the stated figure so you can adjust your medication with the brand you are taking but should then stick to that brand as another could be different). To test whether the fillers are upsetting you the take an antihistamine one hour before your thyroid meds and if that stops the problem then you have an allergy and need to try a different bar and till you find one that suits. Then stick yo thstcone, ask the Pharmacy to put that in your notes and also your GP who you should also ask for bloods in six weeks as SlowDragon said.

It's hard for me to tell at the moment as only had thyroid out after finding cancerous cells beginning of may! Started on 100 levo per day then had blood test 6 weeks later which showed tsh 14 then upped to 125 then blood test after 6 weeks showed tsh 9 and now on 150 which I have been taking for 10 days and another bloOd test in 6 weeks. Looks like my levels are going in the right direction but still feel tired and achey and generally our of sorts! Just noticed last night that boxes were all different . Will keep and eye on things and try and stick with on the same brand going forward x
