So long as you are posting your experience, that is fine to post. But, while it might very much feel like you want to post daily, I doubt that will last! Simply, most members lapse from their original intent.
If you are adding something every day, please keep it as one thread with multiple replies. Having separate posts will just make it a series of disconnected posts and few will actually read through, in sequence, to pick up the patterns. Obviously, there will be times to start a new thread.
Hiya...Sure I understand completely..The Thyroid Specialist said I should feel better in 10 days..So how about in 10 days I post my symptoms on Levo (if any) in 10 days ??
Post when something changes or some time has passed without change. That is, while you might have a schedule in your mind, don't tell us. Then we are not expecting and you shouldn't feel pressure to keep up with your public schedule. If you are unsure, delay it a day or three. If there is something obvious, post immediately!
We've seen many members say they will post back but something, often entirely unrelated to their thyroid, gets in the way.
Real experiences, posted more or less as they happen, can be very helpful to others.
You could also keep a diary as a Word document or suchlike and then copy and paste an update here every so often/weekly. I’m just thinking it would be useful for you to have it all in one place to keep track of symptoms/test results/plans moving forward so that you can start to get a picture and a record of how your body is responding and also so you don’t have to trawl through multiple posts for your own reference purposes. I use my profile/bio to do something similar and it has helped me to get a picture of what has affected the ups and downs and get an understanding of where I feel better/worse in relation to dose etc. and to makes a new plan each time there is an update. Also it’s useful to have it at hand to copy and paste if you need to fill in your “history” for any medical appointments etc. Hope that makes sense! Might be waffling…just got up 🤣
You might start to notice some improvements after 10 days
It takes 6-10 weeks for each dose change in levothyroxine to settle in
how much Levo are you starting on
Levothyroxine is an extremely fussy hormone and should always be taken on an empty stomach and then nothing apart from water for at least an hour after
Many people take Levothyroxine soon after waking, but it may be more convenient and perhaps more effective taken at bedtime
No other medication or supplements at same as Levothyroxine, leave at least 2 hour gap.
Some like iron, calcium, magnesium, omeprazole or vitamin D should be four hours away
(Time gap doesn't apply to Vitamin D mouth spray)
Blood levels should be retested approximately 8 weeks after each dose change
Recommended that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)
If you normally take levothyroxine at bedtime/in night ...adjust timings as follows prior to blood test
If testing Monday morning, delay Saturday evening dose levothyroxine until Sunday morning. Delay Sunday evening dose levothyroxine until after blood test on Monday morning. Take Monday evening dose levothyroxine as per normal
REMEMBER.....very important....stop taking any supplements that contain biotin a week before ALL BLOOD TESTS as biotin can falsely affect test results - eg vitamin B complex
