New 75mcg tablet

I've had a letter through saying that a new 75mcg tablet is available instead of me taking 25 and 50. Has any seen the 75 yet? Are they small or large tablets?

I hope so Marley 13 as I too have to take both the 25mg and 50mg, it would be a lot easier and better for the stomach as well.

Toni_Anderson1979,

I am not getting why they would be better for the stomach?

I think (but could be wrong - anyone able to confirm or deny this?) that Teva tablets vary in size by dose. That is, the 25 is twice the size of the 12.5, the 50 is twice the size of the 25, etc.

If so, what you consume is identical whether taken as one tablet, or two.

Might be slightly easier to take one tablet than two, but it also prevents you easily adjusting (e.g. taking only 50 if you don't feel right when increased to 75).

Marley13,

I think Teva is the only manufacturer producing 75mcg Levothyroxine. Check the brand before you agree to change from your current tablets if they suit you.

I am on Teva's 75mcg. They are very slightly larger than my husband's Actavis 50 mcg but only by 1-1.5 mm in diameter.

I get varied brands currently with the 25 and 50 so I'm hoping I should be OK with this new 75
