information re T3

Hi, I am a 64 year old lady and have been hypo since having radioactive therapy for Hyper. I am on 125mg levothyroxine and find that I am really tired and gaining weight, I have also had 2 heart attacks in the last 5 years and suffer from depression. I did ask my dr about T3 a few years ago and he prescribed it BUT he stopped my Levo, blood tests then showed low T4 & high T3 and stopped the T3 and re prescibed Levo, I thought they should be taken together and want to know where I can buy T3. I have stopped taking some of the meds prescribed. Statins was the first to go and then the beta blockers, I am on pregabalin for restless leg syndrome and it also helps with muscle spasms but it also causes weight gain and mirtazapine for depression. Hoping someone can give me some pointers

It would be great if you have some thyroid test results with ranges for people to comment. Difficult to do so without them Sounds as if your GP was a little clueless.

You also need tests for B12 - Folate - Ferritin - VitD - as these need to be optimal for the thyroid hormones to work well in the body. Also low B12 and VitD could be the cause of your depression along with low thyroid. Low thyroid hormone is usually behind raised cholesterol and blood pressure issues.

Keep asking questions and supplying the information and you will soon be feeling stronger

went for blood test yesterday so will next week for results.
