Would my GP prescribe me NTD if I tell them that I have seen a specialist?

Hi,

I have been taking 125mcg Levo for over 10 years, I started these when I was 11 and I still feel terrible everyday. I still have all the symptoms of an under active thyroid and I would go to the GP about it but they don't seem to think anything is wrong with me as my T4 and THS were normal. Recently, I have been feeling much worse than just being tired so I decided to see Dr Peatfield.

After a long consultation he suggested that I take Adrenavive 125mg and Metavive 15mg (the-natural-choice.co.uk/Pr...

And also do a self test kit for my T3 and my Adrenal function (You can usually order these tests online)

I haven’t started these yet as I have just ordered them but he said that I will feel better in 3 weeks and that all his patients felt better after taking them.

As these capsules are expensive to buy for the rest of my life I just wanted to know if my GP will be able to prescribe these to me or at least something similar if I provide them with tests and Dr Peatfields report?

Please let me know if you can get these prescribed,

Thank you!!

There are several forms of NDT you can buy. The cheapest is probably Thiroyd from Thailand (it's a proper pharmaceutical product). It costs about £50 for 1000 pills of 1 grain each (60mg). I see that Metavive is much more expensive than that. Once you work out how much Metavive you need to make you well you can try swapping to a less expensive form of NDT. Thyroid-S is cheaper too (also from Thailand) and there are several others.

Yes, Dr Peatfield said something about Thyriod-S too. Thank for your advice, I will definitely be doing as you suggested! is there a website I should use to order Thyroid-S from?

Thank you,

Thank you for your reply,

I see, maybe I can at least try and get the NDT prescribed and I will just buy the adrenavive.
