Meralgia Paresthetica

Last Monday I noticed the outside of my thigh felt numb. Straight away I thought the worst but then did a quick check with Dr Google and it seems to fit in with Meralgia Paresthetica (Risk factors include being Hypo, overweight and wearing tight clothing).

Just wondering if anyone else has had this, and if so did you get it sorted?

Happens every night. When I go to the loo, two or three times a night... joy... hands can feel thighs but thighs can't feel hands. Never bothered to look into it, its well down the list to be honest

I am not overweight nor I wear tight clothes but I have thyroid issues and my thighs are numb. Tho not to point it's completely numb , but I can squeeze or pinch them and sense very little.

I'm not alone then! While it's not painful as such, mine seems to be travelling down my leg and it's rather uncomfortable. No point in going to the docs and filling myself full of more pills so I guess I'll just have to get on with it :-(

i had it too last year and it was there for quiet a long time, [can't remember 6-8 month, maybe] and because i have very bad back-pain and at times sciatic nerve pain, my GP said it is a pinched nerve from the spine. it is totally gone now.

the pain was like having elephant skin on my right tight, just on the outside. similar to light frostbite.

Edit: i also had an osteopath massaging my back and aligning my spine, because of the lower back-pain and the leg. maybe it help, can't remember...

Glad you're OK now mojas :-) The numbness isn't a problem but the discomfort in my calf was horrible last night but thankfully eased off in bed.

Hi, I feel this too & always blamed my back injuries. I am hypo, overweight but dont wear tight clothes. Its been present at least 5 yrs & I feel it subsides when I am good w abstaining from gluten & dairy. Can hardly believe it myself but its so. A back adjustment & dry brushing is my routine. Feel better soon💐
