Levo - T3 ratio

Can anyone explain the 3:1 ratio of Levo to T3 please? And any research links please?

It means T3 is 3 x stronger than Levothyroxine.

Not sure I explained properly. One of my posts on here, someone mentioned that I should be taking three times as much Levo as T3 e.g. 75mcg Levo: 25mcg T3. What I wanted to know was why that ratio?

Hattie007 yes that's what I mean, will look into it further later.

But yes Clutter we are all individual so may need different doses. It worried me at the time as I am on 50mcg Levo and 62.5 T3 (down from 75mcg)

I think the person is confusing the potency ratio of 3:1 with advice to take 3 x as much T4 as T3. Like everything, you need as much/little T4 and T3 as you need, there is no ideal ratio.

It is in the tpauk link above. If you go to page 80 you will see the results of the combinations trialled and the result. It is the dose that makes you well whether it be 30 levo plus 10mcg T3, or 60 levo plust 20mcg etc etc. It is all trial and error.
