Update on my weight loss

Hi Everyone,

Some of you may remember that I started Slimming World in January 2016. There has been some ups and downs - holidays and Christmas when I put on and have to take it all off again, which takes longer than losing it in the first place. I have a full social life and stress plays a big part in me having a glass of wine when I finish work!

However, I am determined that this time I am going to get to my goal and I don't care how slowly the weight comes off or how long it takes. I am a half pound a week girl! Once upon a time, a half a pound loss would have me crying and asking why I can't lose more. I don't care now as long as it's going down.

The diet works for me and is very easy to do. I make our food from scratch as I prefer this to the processed meals that you can eat on this diet and it means that my family eat what I eat (other than the biscuits and cake that they have). Thank goodness for Muller yoghurt, that's all I can say!

So, today I lost another half a pound and I can now officially say that I have lost over one and a half stone! :-)

This year my 40th wedding anniversary and renewal of vows was my motivation and I have a wedding and a big function in July as well as a New Year's party to go to this year so I want to lose some more so that I can buy new dresses for those events!

What I'm trying to say is don't lose hope if you have weight to lose. Once you have your thyroid balanced, you can do it too.

I'll check in again some time, if you like! :-)

Thanks for listening...

Wow that's brilliant. Gives us all hope that we can do the same

That's brilliant! So glad that Slimming World is working for you. I used to go, but when I got my thyroid diagnosis and was put on Levothyroxine I gained two stone in the first two months. That totally floored me, and I've never managed to shift anymore weight. I now have Fibromyalgia and Pernicious Anaemia, plus a bone problem in one foot. That has all added up to more weight gain. I wish you well, you look so good in the photo.

Well done Lyn and your picture is lovely. Slow and steady is a good way to diet and

and you've set another couple of goals ahead so am sure you'll achieve it as well. There must be something positive going on at TUK as both you and Louise have lost a lot between you. Her goal also was her wedding and you have yet more excitement ahead. :)

Any good news for us members waiting to hear the results of your behind the scenes hard work on the T3 debacle ?

Also news of Dr Midgley's meeting with the Scottish Parliament would be appreciated.

Hi Marz,

Yes, some news! I am writing a timeline as we speak for the campaign and a report has gone into the member magazine which I hope to send to the printer on Friday.

A report about the Scottish Parliament is also going into the member magazine.

Information on both will go on our website soon.

It's all go!
