Has anyone else had issues with cutting WP Thyroid ?
As you may know, WP are only supplied in 1 Grain tablets , IN the UK ...
despite being made in every denomination you can think of.
The thing is...I am wondering if I am seriously under medicating as I have noticed the tablets very quickly change their appearance when cut..they go from light chalky beige to a more solid, shinier coffee colour. I don't mind what they look like...but it concerns me that their efficacy. I checked this out with the the company..RLC labs..despite several emails they just won't answer. I then told the pharmacist...he said he is not able to contact the labs as a pharmacist as there is obviously a supplier in the middle...I don't quite get that..but there...
I told Dr P who said he has. NEver come across this before...
So I tried phoning the labs in Arizona ..during their opening hours..only to get an a message machine saying the office is now closed !!
So I've got nowhere..and am beginning to be a little suspicious..
Does anyone know anything ???

All I can say is that my WP tablets also change colour in the same way. I too wondered if this could change the effectiveness of the ndt. However, I am definitely responding well to it so I doubt that it would be much if it did or else I would not have the benefits. Mine are shipped from the States by the way.
I cut them with a pill cutter. I tried a knife but as you say they are chalky and crumble. I chop one up at a time and make sure I keep the quarters in the pot and not in the pill cutter (as they go softer this way).
Ah..so you're really only using cut tabs for two day..
Now, my tablets come in what looks like the original pot, however, the pot is definitely not the pot in all the pictures on the website...do you think it strange..I do.
It seems to me as soon or not long after you take them out of their container and they start absorbing moisture from the air round them, my thoughts anyway. Would this affect their ability to work as normal? I'd guess it does not do them any favours.
I would cut your WP tablets as and when required and wouldn't chop up several days worth as they will absorb moisture and may degrade. The degradation isn't likely to be significant over a day or two.
Manufacturers will probably tell you they can't guarantee the potency of tablets halved or quartered as it is unlikely they test anything other than whole tablets.
A....the OFFICIAL pot I receive them in i is NOT the same as pictured on WP website..
B....WHY can't we get all the denominations that RLC make..why only the 1 a Grain tablet..
C...I thought I was doing myself a favour when I moved from Armour to WP..as I'd read all about its PURITY..NUMBER ONE...
ALSO I NOTICED IT IS NOT VERY EXPENSIVE TO BUY...IF ONE HAD TO BUY oneself for any reason...and so I THOUGHT I WAS DOING THE NHS A FAVOUR ALSO...KEEPING THE COST DOWN.
WELL....I mentioned this to my very friendly pharmacist and he said..
WELLL...THAT THREE MONTHS WORTH YOU HAVE THERE HAVE COST THE NHS £1000 !!!!
It is no wonder the NHS is in crisis..and I imagine this is going on all the time
Someone is making an awful lot of money..but it is a disgrace.
Since WP Thyroid is uncoated and formulated with minimal pure ingredients, the tablets can change color by absorbing ambient humidity. If the tablets are stored in their original container and at room temperature (59° (15°) – 86° F (30° C) with an ambient humidity of 10-65%, no discoloration occurs. However, exposed tablets outside of proper storage conditions still conform to USP specifications for both T4 and T3 potency and stability.
Well , this is interesting ...you sound as if you do know...?
I have recently written to RLC labs...I had a reply...they think tablets must be ok..I am waiting for a fuller reply. I sent photos of tablets and pot at their request. ...
I think i could understand if the temperature had been hotter but it's not exceeded 30C - this is England after all! I chew mine and they've turned from crumbly to chewy. Apparently, from what I've read, the efficacy remains. It's food for thought though.
