Hello everyone! I am new to this forum. Ive been diagnosed with hashimotos some 5 years or so ago. Im 27yrs old. Recently moved to Glasgow from Australia, and am finding the doctors over here very limiting with their thyroid knowledge and testing Can anyone help with someone that is both open to natural thyroid extract as well as more extensive tests? eg- will do reverse t3 etc?

thanks for any help!

Hiya, yes unfortunately many of them are very limited and you're unlikely to get anywhere with them. It is highly unlikely that you'll be able to get a prescription for NDT but you can buy it from abroad I believe. Just post for details and someone will private message you with them.

You'll be able to get the tsh and T4 levels done at most docs and possibly T3 if you see an endo but very unlikely to be able to get Rt3.

You can pay for your own blood tests which is easy enough. Details in the following link. One of them even do "thyroid thursday" where various thyroid tests are discounted on a thursday lol :-)

Hi I live in Perthshire ,I see a Dr Laura Jordan, she is based in Ninewells Hospital in Dundee, but comes to Perth. She is very sympathetic, she gave me t3, which I take on it's own.She will not prescribe NDT though. If you cannot find anyone else near you I am sure you will get a referral,it's worth a try.
