Hi OldC . I have tried to get a group going in Braintree, but to no avail. I know of a hall available on a Saturday afternoon with free parking behind it. If anyone is interested I will look into it further. It is in the centre of town.

I don't know if you are still around, but I live in Braintree and suffer miserably due to my hyperthyroidism 😪.. I would like to join a support group as I know of no other person who has this condition..

Hi @Georgia-Louise, There are a group of us in Essex who are next meeting up at Wyevale Garden Centre, Stanway, Colchester on Saturday 10 November. I will put up a reminder in about another week. If you cannot make this, please feel free to message me on chat and I might be able to arrange something different. I would much prefer this group to be closer to Braintree, but we seem to have migrated to nearer Colchester. If there are too many of us, we may have to think of somewhere else. Please keep in touch.

Hello J_B, I am unable to get to Colchester on the weekends as I take my son to football and his training is on Saturdays and matches are on Sundays outside of Braintree..

I am desperate to connect with others, as I have had a rough time and the Gps that I have seen thus far have been attributed my past years symptoms with everything other than hyperthyroidism.. It was not until I ended up in hospital whilst on Bedfordshire and given a letter for my Gp upon my discharge that had yielded any progress..

The first endocrinologist appt was last week Friday at Broomfield and the consultant I saw was most unsympathetic too.. I had a fresh set of bloods taken and almost 10 days later my results have still not been relayed to me..

Being a parent makes me consider this matter to be very serious given my symptoms..

Any possibility of any other person being willing to meet in Braintree?
