Confused need help.

I have more than enough health issues which take too long to go into. This site has made me understand why I became the way I did after 45 years of age. I have a collapsing knee which was operated on but did not do the job and I kept collapsing to the ground without warning

it had now started in the other knee. I have seen a specialist who as I he could give me a new one but won't because of my interactive thyroid. My GO sent me for anoth scan, results much the same, osteoporosis and rheumatoid arthritis has eaten all the tissue away and the same will happen to th rest of me. Does this mean my hips will be the same. My levels are only T3 something but with a back problem and all the above mentioned I am so depressed and worried I will not get a new knee as someone told me I have to wait till I am of 70 years old. I take 50mg thyroxon as well as pain relief anti depressants and need for my heart as I have a dialated valve which plays up now and then bit like a gainful panic attack. Am I entitled to a new knee because I need one? Or do I have to wait till I am 70 years old? I need it now not at 70 years old and to be told (you need to have a new knee but I am not going to give you one) felt terrible. Where do I stand? Do I have a say? I have an appointment 15th June. Sorry this is so long.

Sorry I did ask and I forgot. I am seeing my GP 2nd June to explain another matter regarding my white blood cells.

All I know is a figure of 0.3 or 3.0 and I take 50mg of thyroxon a day. I was on 100mg but I have hypotension and my blood pressure raised so high I had a minor heart attack. The 100mg Thyroxon have me sever headaches so the GP started me back on a low dose 25mg for 3 months, bloods tests to follow, 50mg at the moment, and then 75mg. That will be the end of it. It would be nice to know if anyone else has the same uki symptoms as my self even though the figure is not so high for an under active thyroid gland. Tired by the afternoon, sudden sore throat headaches earache swollen glands and gone the next day! Brittle bone waiting tissue the start of glaucoma mildly in one eye, dry skin and hair, sometime swollen face and eyes (not an alergiy) have had that since I was 16 though. Can't sleep but then sometimes I can sleep for 15jrs and don't seem to be able to wake my self up NO matter how hard I try. In the end my husband has a few attempts and I eventually wake up. Any one get all the above? In this post and second?

Thank you for the info. Sounds terrible but it actually helps knowing you are not alone with all your symptoms and many more things never mentioned. Also rather coincidental Hashimotis seems to be playing some part with the symptoms I have had from the day I was born. My Dad was in the Army on Christmas Island when the Americans were doing the Atom Bomb Testing. They were on based on the beach, the testing was done out at see. They were given an Alarm warning to go into there huts pull down the blinds and await for the signal to come out. My Dad said it went stright through the huts they did not have the proper protection they needed and many years later some of the men were effected by this with health complications. 1 of 2 as it is so long

2of 2

I was conceived when my Dad returned home from Christmas Island. I was born with peeling red raw skin and very sick. We were stationed in Germany.

My white blood cells seemed to be a big problem and mypeeling skin took months to to calm down. I did grow up catching everything going but it never stopped me climbing trees or getting on with my life unless I awoke in a morning with lips like Donald Duck, eyes looking like I has done 10 rounds in the boxing ring and no one new why. I have1 son now age 30. I have had 18 miscarriages 3 x IVF leaving me with ectopic pregnancies.

My thyroid gland apparently has played rather a large part with this all mylife but only bothers me now. The MOD have now excepted responsibility for deformities of children and grandchildren Nora's well as health conditions mainly from he north of the U.K. Which is where the REME were from. I have no fight I just don't understand anymore but I do believe now as my mum dad brother did that it is all related. I just want to feel better and have a life but instead my body keeps going to war with its self. I don't know if my level is dangerous or nor as the number is only 3. I don't know if I should be taking extra meds on top of the he 10 I have to take per day. I have sinc lost my moth r and father which broke me and still hurts. I just need someone to make me understand what my underactive thyroid gland means to be honest. Can any one tell me that in English.

Thankyouso much and so sorry for such a long post.

Thank you so much. Finally someone actually understands without my going through at least a 6 page document on how it has effected me. I will ask the HP if he cam organise some iodine but I think it will be a NO. It was injected into me during a stay in hospital leaving my body in shock and rushed to IF I. Too quiet for me when I came round and everyone looked liked they were going to kick the bucket any mimuet.

Thanks again for the help x
