What would normally TSH and low FT4 indicate? I was on 50mg of levothyroxine and feeling much better but had to come off it for 6 weeks and then have more bloods done.

Thanks in advance

Beckymarie1986,

Normal is a very broad range. It will help members to advise if you post the results and the ranges.

my TSH on levothyroxine was 0.77. They won't tell me what it was before. My FT4 was 8 before starting 50mg if levothyroxine and then went up to 12.7

For most ranges, that FT4 level is pretty low and suggests that you need an increase. TSH is not really relevent when on levo (unless it is very high), but it shows that there is still room for an increase.

They were thinking that it may possibly be a pituitary issue and have requested an mri too so Il just have to wait. Definitely feel lots better on the levothyroxine even if it only brought it up a little bit. x

Apparently I was just borderline and never had a high enough TSH to be classed as hypothyroid but T4 was 8.

I'm so angry as I feel horrific being off the levothyroxine.

Dr prescribed levothyroxine and endo took me off it. once referred back to Dr,can they decide if I need levothyroxine?

It gets better.....

Spoke to the Endo today...I'm normal, nothing wrong as everything is within range. TSH 2.24 FT4 10.1

On Levothyroxine the TSH 0.77 FT4 12.7

Being on Levothyroxine obviously helped.

He told me to take a multi vitamin

Gods how I hate the expression "within range" thats what I was told when my Vit B12 was 225 in a range of 200-800. I really wish that somebody would educate our do called doctors!

I know. It's ridiculous. They should use it as a guide but take into consideration how the patient is feeling and their symptoms x
