I know I sound a bit daft asking but my TSH is 28 but my T3 and T4 are normal...does anyone know what this means and is it bad?

How do you know your T3 and T4 are normal? Post your results with ranges if you can, it is unlikely they are normal with a TSH that high x

To a doctor a result for Free T3 of 3.5 with a reference range of 3.5 - 6.8 is normal.

If you had such a result but only feel well with a Free T3 around 5.5 (for example) then you're stuffed. The medical profession doesn't usually care about Free T3 unless you are hyperthyroid (i.e. have an overactive thyroid).

Incidentally, if you have results for Total T4 and Total T3 then they don't tell you anything helpful. You really need Free T3 and Free T4. If the word Free isn't mentioned then you almost certainly have a Total result.

I'm a bit puzzled though. How did you get a result for T3 in any form? Do you live outside the UK?

Another point has just occurred to me...

Do you take supplements? if you do, what kind? Do they contain biotin?

healthunlocked.com/thyroidu......

And yet another point... In the UK we can treat ourselves by buying thyroid hormones online.

Are you in a country where this is possible?

OMG...it is all so baffling! My test results with the Endo were as stated, I am unmedicated at the moment as I suffer badly tolerating Levo and also Armour after it was reformulated BUT I have just been prescribed WP Thyroid (YAY after months of trying) it hasn't arrived yet but the Endo did tell me my results...I am not very clever sadly and wondered if they were bad??? I am in the UK!
