Hi there,

Was wondering if anyone has used GTA forte to treat hypothyroidism and if they found it helpful in alleviating symptoms.

Thanks

Welcome to the forum, Cs00.

Do you have a hypothyroid diagnosis? Can you post your recent thyroid results and ranges?

GTA Forte is a dietary supplement. It is not thyroid replacement.

GTA Forte II is a source of thyroxine free thyroid, containing 20mg of porcine glandular per capsule along with Zinc, Selenium, Copper, Rubidium. Superoxide Dismutase and Catalase are also included to provide antioxidant enzymes.

Hey, thanks for the reply.

Recent bloods:

TSH: 140 mIU/L

FT4: 6.2 pmol/L

FT3: 3.5 pmol/L

RT3: 95 pmol/L

Not sure if that helps.

It was prescribed via my naturopath.

Are you also taking levothyroxine? Because you should be, with results like that. A hormone-free supplement just isn't going to be enough.

cS00,

Do you have the lab ref ranges please?

Your Naturopath should have referred you to a medical doctor who can write a prescription for Levothyroxine. Over the counter and natural remedies are NOT going to treat hypothyroidism.

Thank you both. Wasn't sure but your replies will have me take results to GP. Ranges below:

TSH 0.5-4.0

T4 10-20

T3 3.5-6.0

Thankyou. Will get on it!

Hi csOO, as you're seeing a naturopath, I'm wondering if they've explored why your hypothyroid test results? e.g. Have they checked for thyroid antibodies too? Toxic metals & chemicals? Adrenal function and chronic infections for example? If not, addressing these areas can be a helpful adjunct to seeing your GP too, because your naturopath should be able to help you with any gut healing (that is often required with autoimmunity), alleviating toxins, infections and addressing adrenal issues - which your GP is very unlikely to. :-)

Not what you're looking for?
