Goitre making me feel sick

Had anyone else had or got this? A large footer appeared on my neck on Tuesday. It's got bigger and slightly smaller since but today it's really pressing on my throat and making me gag (hate things touching my throats anyway)..any advise welcome! TIA x

If a lump has suddenly appeared you should make an appointment to see your GP as soon as possible.

I did see the doctor, she order bloods and ultrasound. Results of bloods came back as normal function but autoimmune thyroiditis. Different doc gave me the results and basically said it sometimes goes away and to wait for the ultrasound...

Autoimmune thyroiditis is commonly known as Hashimoto's just about everywhere except the NHS. There is no cure for Hashimoto's which causes 90% of hypothyroidism. Treatment is for the low thyroid levels it eventually causes. Many people have found that 100% gluten-free diet is helpful in reducing Hashi flares, symptoms and eventually antibodies.

If your thyroid is inflamed following an autoimmune attack it may improve as the inflammation goes down.

The ultrasound will show the size and general condition of your thyroid gland.
