Hi all, advice desperately needed! Been to my Dr several times with issues with my weight, feeling tired, hot flashes, feeling dizzy.. the list goes on. Blood tests come back "normal" but as I've explained normal to them might be abnormal for me. IV pushed and I'm hitting a brick wall. Please advise. Thanks Carrie x

CarrieLouisePenn If you post your test results, with reference ranges, members can comment. If you don't have your results and you are in the UK, pop along to the surgery and ask for a print out, you are legally entitled to them under the Data Protection Act.
Ugh just asked for them and they said we can't give that information away. I said I'm entitled to it and she got arsey! Good job I'm not dying of something chronic isn't it? X
You have a legal right to your test information. Go on the web to "failure of doctor to provide results/LegalMatch.com" where all your rights are discussed and your ability to sue if they don't obey the law.
Well, if they want to play that game, then so can you.
The Data Protection Act 1998 legally entitles you to a copy of your records and test results.
If you are in England, then from medicalprotection.org/uk/re...
Online medical records:
Since 1 April 2015 all GP practices in England have to provide online services to patients, including access to summary medical records. Issues of confidentiality will arise in relation to children (under 16) and incapacitated patients. The principles explained above should be followed when considering requests for ‘proxy’ access.

and this page tells you how to make a Subject Access Request ico.org.uk/for-the-public/p...
Unfortunately, doing it that way will cost you up to £50 but that gives you a copy of everything held electronically.
What you really need is to persuade them that The Data Protection Act gives you the legal right to have a copy of your test results and if they don't provide them they are breaking the law.
If they wont provide a print out at nominal cost (a few pence for paper and ink), then you could ask to see the screen and write them down yourself. That would be preferable to a member of staff writing them down for you. You need to know they are accurately recorded and that the reference ranges are given too.
I would bypass the receptionist and go direct to the Practice Manager. She's acting like a little tin pot god.
Thanks everybody, they're going to print them will collect them shortly. She said the results were from last year. Does that matter? X
What you need is your latest results, so make sure that is what you get. Well done for getting them.
Make sure the reference ranges are with them, make a new thread with the results and ranges and a bit of background, members will comment
Thanks had a rough afternoon so had a quick nap by the time i woke up my partner walked through the door. Will post tomorrow x
