Hi everyone,
Just wondering what the best treatment is if you are planning to get pregnant? I am on T3 only but am considering going back to NDT if it means it's better for the baby.
Thanks!

Blue_Lagoon,
NICE CKS recommends TSH in the low-normal range 0.4-2.5 with FT4 in the upper range. Of course, they are assuming you are taking Levothyroxine. I think you will be pressured to switch to Levothyroxine until after delivery.
Hi Clutter, thanks, oh dear that doesn't sound good. I didn't do well on thyroxine. But then I thought, what if the baby doesn't do well on T3. But if I don't do well on thyroxine I might miscarry. I don't know what to do. It's so confusing.
Blue_Lagoon,
Could you take Levothyroxine + T3?
It is a possibility. I have never actually tried that combination. I dived straight in with NDT. I didn't get any benefit from thyroxine. I might as well have not been on it so the little T3 that I would be taking might not be enough. I had quite a good experience with Armour until I was taken off it so would prefer to go back to that really but wondering what is supposed to be best for those who do not do well on thyroxine.
