Feeling anxious

I went to the Dr this week as I am feeling anxious all the time for no reason. I have got to have a blood test on Tuesday morning as I think my anxiety is because my thyroid is under active. Remember reading about fasting before the test but when should I take my medication before I have my blood test?

Kerry1971 Levothyroxine should be left off for 24 hours, take after the blood draw. Have the earliest appointment of the morning and fast overnight (you can have water).

My appointment is at 8.35 so will take my Medes after. Will have to miss breakfast as I don't have lunch at work until 12.15. It's going to be a hungry morning 😟

Good timing for the test :) Can you take a small snack to eat after the blood draw? A banana maybe, or something like a muesli bar. I know you're supposed to take meds on an empty stomach, but eat your snack straight after your blood draw, say 8.45, wait an hour, take Levo - 9.45, then it will be over 2 hours before you eat your lunch at 12.15.

I work in a classroom in year R so won't get a chance to take medication once I'm there so will have to take it as soon as I have had my blood test. Might get chance to eat a banana somewhen in the morning. We have got the inspectors in that day so it's going to be full on

On a once-off occasion, don't worry about things.

Have blood drawn, throw tablet down with a bit of water. Then get on with rest iof day - eating as and when you can.

The real problem is if you do it every day - or keep chopping and changing.
