toonarmy B12 is far too low at 190. Anything under 500 can cause neurological problems. Recommended level is very top of range, even 900-1000. Folate is recommended to be at least half way through it's range and yours is slightly under half way.
You could supplement with Solgar or Jarrows sublingual methylcobalamin lozenges 5000mcg daily and when the bottle is finished change to 1000mcg as a maintenance dose.
When taking B12 we also need a B Complex to balance all the B vits.
Hi thanks seaside susie, thankyou for that is my thyroid levels ok on 3.3 ?
serum B12 isn't a good test to use as a single indicator of B12 deficiency
suggest you take a look at the PASoc forum and look at the pinned posts there and try educating your GP on B12 deficiency before jumping into high dose oral supplementation, which can make diagnosing and getting treatment for an absorption problem much more difficult
Hi gambit62, thanks for your reply, I have looked on the PA posts and can relate to a lot of the symptoms, I too have bad tinnitus, carpel tunnel syndrome, anxiety, bad mood swings and get dizzy walking through enclosed allyways if I walk my dogs at night(which I thought was very odd) how do I get my endocrinologist to listen as my drs have said my reading at 190 ng/l is whitin range is there anything in print form that you suggest I take with me to my appointment on Wednesday.
Many thanks
