What was your previous cholesterol? Just wondering if it's on it's way higher or it's actually falling.

It was 7.3 6 months ago but because I was on a dairy free I didn't buy a staton as they have a lactose binder in these. Doctor didn't seem worried as I have low blood pressure of 79/95 very low therefore low risk for heart attack it seems.

Thanks for your reply.

Clutter,

I have a question in this context: my uric acid levels have been slightly elevated for years (around 7.0 mg/dL, ref 2.6-6.0; it has remained stable at that level for the past five years), but my Hertoghe doctor (the only one who tests uric acid at all) said that, as long as I don't display any symptoms of gout, there is no reason to treat it. It seems it takes prescription drugs to lower elevated uric acid levels, and that all the supplements available on Amazon etc are a waste of money...?

Anna69,

I don't know anything about uric acid. I simply posted a Google link to Lynette944 when I saw her uric acid level was abnormal.

Do you suffer this condition? I had a test for this months ago test was negative. I hope still is. It means for me get off alcohol cut sugar out and eat less protein meats.. it may regulate in coming months. Wish blood tests would define if low risk or high with the no's.

cheers!

Lyn.

Hi Lynette, before diagnosed hypo I had gout in big toe, excruciatingly painful, woken up in the night which is a typical symptom, could not bear the lightest sheet resting on it and hobbled to the bathroom so as not to wake up the household to inspect offending article! Not my finest hour! Have not suffered since Levo treatment kicked in. My very best wishes to you. ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/809...

So bad. I had a trolley crush injury on my great toe 1 year ago and I had the gout test but my symptoms still like what you explained and I can't wear thongs nor walk bare foot much I need to wear orthotics like if I get gout from that accident.and I rest my toe over end of bed so nothing touches it also. I Be upset and my doctor wants me to have a fe studies blood test on my liver & kidneys and iron levels next as urgent!! Sometimes truth hurts with blood tests.

Take all the tests offered then you can concentrate on getting well.

Found this: oral medications that can include non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and colchicines. Corticosteroids are other medications used for gout that may be taken
