under active thyroid with tsh 7.8 with 75 kg's of body weight and am 29 yrs of age (male)

I have been dealing with hypothyroidism symptoms since past 4-5 months and diagnosed with hypothyroidism last month with tsh level up to 7.8 and started medication drug thyroxine 25mg for 4 weeks already and my symptoms are much better since then but still not able to go for work because of fatigue and indigestion and low energy level.

should i need to upgrade my drug dosage level up to 50mg ???

Your doctor should have started at 50mcg with incremental 25mcg around every six to eight weeks until your TSH is 1 or lower.

Your tests should be the earliest possible, fasting (you can drink water) and allow a 24 hour gap between levo and the test and take it afterwards. This allows the TSH to be at its highest as it drops throughout the day which may mean you don't get sufficient hormones for your needs.

Ask GP to test Vitamin B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate as we can be deficient.

Some prefer to take a night-time dose and research has shown it is more beneficial. If you decided to try, you must have an empty stomach so should have last eaten about 3 hours before, due to the fact that as everything slows down with hypo, so does our digestion and food can interfere.

If you decide on this method, you miss the night dose and take after a.m. test and you can take night dose as usual. Always get aprint-ouf of your results, with the ranges for your own records and you can post if you have a query. Levo should always be taken with one full glass of water.

Yes absolutely and then if no better again a few weeks later.

You are just in a steadying dose at the moment. I see Shaws has given good advice.

I'll just add, get your Thyroid antibodies tested at the same time to test for Hashimotos
