Now aged 47 ... a slew of symptoms - scalloped & "oversized" feeling tongue, wiped out in the pm, freezing & numbness to feet and hands, (thought was Reynauds), pale face - puffy looking - and drab eyes, "foggy" thinking, no stamina to run, feel like I have IBS symptoms - bloating etc, just a lack of ooomph - not like me, sore throat, eyebrow & hairloss issues - but all tests have come back "in normal range" TSH 1.72 and T4 10.3 no T3 result given.... am I going mad...??

CowGarl What's the range for FT4? It looks as though it may be low but without the reference range it doesn't mean much.
What you really need is a full thyroid panel and vitamins and minerals tested too.
So that's
TSH
FT4
FT3
TPO antibodies
TG antibodies
Vit D
B12
Folate
Ferritin
Thyroid hormone can't work unless vitamins and minerals are at optimal levels (not just in range).
You need to see just where in the ranges your thyroid results fall.
Are you diagnosed and on Levo? The aim of a treated hypo patient generally is for TSH to be 1 or below or wherever it is needed for FT4 and FT3 to be in the upper part of their respective reference ranges, if that is where you feel well. A healthy person would generally have a TSH of below 2 and free Ts possibly mid-range +
You need to know whether you have high antibodies as this would mean autoimmune thyroid disease where antibodies fluctuate and cause fluctuations in symptoms.
You can get all the above tests done privately with a fingerprick test from

Thanks so much for your rsvp - I'm going to dox on Weds to disc results in detail - will report back - really don't want them to tell me I'm peri-meno tho - I don't think this is the case. Have been doing the basal temp test for the last few days too - always in the range of 35.0 - 36.1 - underarm and/or undertongue... feel like a dimmerswitch when someone's turned the switch down.... should I ask for an ultrasound?
