Thyroid & other Blood Test Results - info for Newbies & others.

Labtestsonline- a great resource for understanding your blood test results - irrespective of health condition tested, not only your Thyroid.

I have just for the 1st time in months, looked at their app again, and on opening was asked to update - there were over 150 updates - containing much more information than I'd seen almost 2 yrs ago when I first found the site.

If, like me, you have more than one ongoing health condition, the way the website has been updated and is presented, makes it much easier to see if there are links between various but specific blood tests, some of which may apply to your other known conditions.

I have found interesting info re my nerve demyelination, yes with reference to Thyroid and other autoimmune diseases, under the ACTH blood test, which also refers to IGg

In the interests of helping us understand and manage our own bodies and health, I continue to advocate the use of Labtestsonline as a great reference tool.....

........along with with that of Drugs.com/Drugs.co.uk website, to check any potential counteraction between different meds prescribed bŷ GP's.

It did or does NOT check OTC meds though - so be wary of what you buy, especially if online from 'anywhere' in the world, when you don't know who manufactured the product or what is in it.

Be guided by regular others on these Health sites who are happy to report on effects of and recommend certain drug brands from specific sources.

Completely agree that it is an extremely useful site. Even if the information sometimes seems a bit thin, and very much on the orthodox side, it makes an excellent starting point.

Thanks Helvella, It's working OK on IOS for me, in fact iPad seems to be working better here in UK now - Apple (hopefully) must have cottoned on that my new location is permanent and re-jigged it's OS during its own updating!

I know more about my health than I do computers, software and apps these days! Everything has changed far too fast for me in last 4 months.

PS to previous. It is worth looking at the Section called In The News on Labtestsonline. It comes with a recommendation from the Nuffield Tust for its use as a tool - BUT also with warnings for patients and how they use any info.

As a precaution, It's worth everyone reading all the Sections in LH column before they do anything else.
