Vitamin d supplementation
Naveed123,
You've probably taken a toxic dose. I was prescribed 40,000iu daily x 14 days and I've not seen a higher dose prescribed. I would stop taking D3 and have a vitamin D test to check levels. In the UK toxicity is possible >250nmol/L.
The late Professor Robert Heaney, scientific adviser to GrassRootsHealth, told a conference about Vitamin D that I organised in 2010 that he was happy for any average weight adult to take 300,000 IU of Vitamin D in a month
Since then I have learned that anyone taking that amount should reduce their intake of calcium, say from milk or certain vegetables like kale
You may have taken 1,500,000 IU, so your Vitamin D levels are likely to be very high, but not dangerous
Return to your doctor and ask for a review.
I would stop taking the Vitamin D for a month, reduce your intake of calcium, stay out of the sun and drink lots of water.
The half-life of Vitamin D in the body is about 15 days, so your level should reduce to an acceptable level within 30 days. Search for a talk on UCSD TV by Professor Robert Heaney: What’s a Vitamin D Deficiency? Watch at 30 mins for information about "half-life"
