braders The first thing you need to do is obtain a print out of your thyroid test results, with their reference ranges. You are legally entitled to them under the Data Protection Act 1998. Some surgeries make a small charge for paper and ink.

When you have the results, post them and members will comment. You could be undermedicated and a simple increase in your levo is all that's necessary.

When having blood drawn for thyroid tests, always book the first appointment of the day, fast overnight (water only) and leave off Levo for 24 hours (take after blood draw). This gives the highest possible TSH which is what is needed when looking for an increase in dose or to avoid a reduction.

Always take your Levo on an empty stomach, one hour before or two hours after food, with water not tea, coffee or milk, and away from other meds so absorption isn't affected.

PS - what dose of levo are you taking?

We really need to see your latest test results - with ranges. They will show if you are well medicated.

Blood pressure is often a symptom of something else going on - low thyroid - low magnesium ....

Fatigue can be caused by low iron - B12 - VitD - Ferritin. So they all need to be tested along with thyroid anti -bodies TPO & Tg.

Keep reading and asking questions - it is complicated 😊

Welcome to the forum, Braders.

Can you post your recent thyroid results with the ranges? Ranges are the figures in brackets after your results. If you don't know what your results and ranges are ask your GP receptionist to printout your recent results and post them in a new question for advice.

The results and ranges will help us to see whether you are optimally medicated. Being under or over medicated can cause high blood pressure. If you are not optimally medicated it will be better to see how you feel when Levothyroxine dose is increased rather than switch medication.

There are several brands of NDT, Armour is by far the most expensive and Thai NDT, Thyroid-S and Thiroyd are the lest expensive. NDT isn't licensed for UK use so most members using it have a private prescription or buy online and self medicate. If you decide to self medicate you will need to order private blood tests unless your GP agrees to monitor you.
