Vit D, shin pain, sternum pain, lower back pain

Endo app. this week and she's convinced I have vitD deficiency. She asked me if I have shin pain and I said yes. Googling when I got home found that sternum pain and lower back pain can be sign of the deficiency too. I have all three.

Hidden Is your endo testing your Vit D level then?

in reply to SeasideSusie

Yes, she said it takes 10-12 days to come back.

OK, that's good. Post the result when you get it. You may not be prescribed a high enough dose of D3 and there are important co-factors needed when taking D3 that your endo won't know about (because they're not taught nutrition).

Thank you SeasideSusie, will do.

Hi! I had similar symptoms to you and I'm very deficient in Vit D. I was having really bad lower back ache and the bone on my foot was very painful. I initially thought I was on too much Levothyroxine (thyroidless), so reduced my Levo but the symptoms remained. Things only changed when I started taking 3200 iu of Vit D3. My GP prescribed it as my blood test showed severe deficiency of Vit D. You'll see your symptoms improve after a few days. Good luck.

I hope she/GP gives you prescription for D3. I hope you also had B12 checked too, both are very necessary for good health and we have to have optimum levels. B12 for instance should be around 900..

I had B12 tested last year but never got results. I will chase that up on Monday. Thank you shaws.

Yes, definitely. Doctors are happy no matter where the number falls even at the lowest. We have to be at the highest to maintain good health but, most importantly, is to prevent dementia and/or alzeimers. A post the other day by an Oxford Professor said that a high homostyceine level is bad and that B12 keeps it lowered so brain isn't damaged.

The pain I had from low Vit D was severe and life limiting. The joint pains were so bad I could not open door handles, toothpaste lids etc, and I dreaded meeting people because of shaking their hand.

The GOOD news is Vit D (plus vit K MK2) has completely resolved all the bone and joint pain.

Amazing

I wish resolving my Hashis was as straightforward!!

Good luck with your journey
