I'm not a scholar but am I correct in my reading in this article that:

1. Low FT3 increases chance of death after heart failure.

2. T3 hormone replacement increases hearts chances of self healing after heart failure.

???

Or have I completely misunderstood?

I'm not a scholar either and often find it difficult to interpret research but,yes, I think that's what it means.

Thank you for this it is good that there are studies being done. However the official line from the medical profession no doubt will be that there is not enough evidence.... Does anyone know what it would actually take for the BMA to actually change their longstanding official position ?(which incidentally the CCG's point to if challenged)

They would all have to develop thyroid cancer and have a thyroidectomy, then be kept to a TSH just inside the top of the range for 6 months, with a Free T3 just over the bottom of the range, or even just below it.

But secretly of course they would start self-medicating, and would continue to say what they have always said so as not to lose face.

oh man why do they have to be this way??? Will we ever evolve into truly empathic beings. I sense greed and Darwinism is driving our culture for now and the BMA is not an outpost of hope but an institution of self serving beauricrats whose masters are the very epitomy of the unfair society we live in.
