Palpation really bad again been to drs and have upped my doze
I had bad palpitations when on levothyroxine. I also had them before I was diagnosed so didn't really recognise that it was levo.
Usually, being very low in thyroid hormones causes our heart to struggle and therefore, palpitations or missed beats etc.
As the GP has switched you to liquid levothyroxine, I assume it has less fillers/binders in it.
What you can try is to take one anti-histamine tablet one hour before your next dose and see if you still have reactions. If you don't have a reaction ask pharmacist for another make of levothyroxine. Your GP may have to give a fresh prescription. You may have to try a few to find one that suits. Some people have a gene defect which means they cannot convert T4 (levothyroxine) to T3. T3 is the active hormone needed in our receptor cells.
This is a link re the defective Gene but you'd have to pay for a special test. You might settle down with you dose of levothyroxine if you give it around 1 to 2 months' trial. Dose should be increased by 25mcg after six weeks.

Thank you shows, I will try that, although as the day has went on, my palpitations have gone after a few hrs of upping my doze, so I will see how it goes ☺
Make a record of your pulse and I did buy a blood pressure/pulse monitor so it was accurate. I had awful problems and wouldn't like anyone else to go through them. Sometimes when taking a new dose it might take a little while for your body to adjust.
Some doctors prescribe betablockers but they aren't good when taking levothyroxine. A link:
Hi shaws, I've got a new bottle of levothyroxine to start taking as I have used all of my last one, the new bottle is made by Mercury Pharma, the one I've been using up till today was TEVA uk any thoughts on either pharmaceutical companys and how people respond to the different companies.
