I had a thyroidectomy and recently had blood work. My T4 level went up from 1.7 to 1.82. What does that mean?

Annieh9 Were you given any medication after your thyroidectomy?

A small change like that in T4 probably doesn't mean anything. Thyroid hormone levels vary during the day and after eating, so unless the two tests were done at the save time of day, fasting, and without having taken any thyroid medication for 24hours, you wouldn't expect the results to be identical.

Is this the FT4 level or the Total T4 level? WHat is the lab range for that test? Do you have any other test results you could share with us?
