I am a 21 years old who has found out today that I may need to be retested for under-active thyroid. I was diagnosed with Irritable bowel syndrome when I was twelve and few years ago I was diagnosed with depression. I have trouble sleeping at night and I always feel hungry after I eat something.

If you can get a print-out from the doctor with the results complete with the ranges (ranges are important as labs differ and they're needed in order to comment).
When you are due for your next blood test (I assume in six weeks) it must be the very earliest appointment and also it is a fasting test. Also allow 24 hours between your last dose of levo and the test and take it afterwards.
If you've not yet had B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin, folate and thyroid antibodies checked ask for them too.
When GP tests for thyroid gland, ask for TSH, T4, T3, Free T4 and Free T4 especially the 'frees' are important and they rarely do them. Some labs wont, even if GP has requested if the first two or three are o.k.
Always get a print-out of your results with the ranges and post for comments.
