Tired of coping

I take 100mg of thyroxin daily but still feel very tired. My Dr says levels are right but maybe my body is not taking up the thyroxin. He has never offered or even suggested that there is anything he can do. I find myself being able to do less and less and feel very frustrated. I do not accept that there isn't anything that can be done. I am 62, eat a healthy diet and take some exercise everyday.

Can anyone offer me advice.

  • Whiss,

Ask your GP receptionist for a printout of your recent thyroid results and ranges (the figures in brackets after results) and post them in a new question. Members will advise whether or not you are optimally medicated. If ferritin, vitamin D, B12 and folate have been tested post those results and ranges too.

  • Thankyou. I will do that.

Hypo can be complicated. Same symptoms can be caused by over thirty other causes: drive.google.com/open?id=0B... Even so that blood tests become worthless and 24h urine tests must be used
