I've just picked up my usual prescription and on my 25mg's box it says new formulation!! Anyone know what the new formulation is or why there suddenly is a new one??

Levothyroxine - New Formulation??
Is there anything written in the blurb inside to indicate what's new?
No the ingredients look the same except there's no lactose warning on the new packet, so maybe that's it....
They now do 12.5 and 75 doses, otherwise haven't found any info.
Mols_Bols1,
Lyn Mynott wrote a post about the re-launch of Teva Levothyroxine recently. It's here healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...
Ingredients of the tablets will be on the leaflet inside the box.
Also now lactose and galactose free.
Following Teva's suspension of licence in December 2014.

In France, the new formula is a big problem... The lactose was swapped for 2 others ingredients( sorry I forgot their names) People complained about bad side effects : cramps, memory loss, dizziness, sleepless nights and hair loss...) The old formula is back to the chemists in a couple of weeks.
For my part, I didn't realise the change. The GP or the chemist didn't say anything about it. I could count on my mum for that. I never had any problems with the new formula...
Also got a box today 75mcg to try for the first time. Lactose was affecting me with others and this is supposedly lactose free. Will try and see side effects. Not taken any meds for 4 days and feel much better!
The new formula doesn't contain lactose, after seeking advice on this I found this new formula doesn't suit some people. I'm going to see if they will change it back.
